Who We Are

Scripture Union Campus Fellowship
(Uniport Group)

SUCF Uniport is the University of Port Harcourt chapter of Scripture Union Campus Fellowship — a community of believers committed to upholding righteous standards and making Christ known on campus. We believe every student is called to be a light in their sphere of influence. Through Bible study, prayer, fellowship and outreach, we equip students to live with purpose and transform their world for God's glory.

Brief History

Scripture Union campus fellowship behan in the year 1996 after the need for a student ministry by Scripture union was duly observed. The alarming rise in moral decadence and corruption within Nigerian universities and other institutions of higher learning remains a deep concern for godly parents who are trusting God as they send their children off for higher education. Beyond expressing concern, Christian parents and mentors must take proactive steps to reverse this negative trend by raising and equipping students—especially SUCF members—who, like the Rechabites, will uphold godly standards and live out impeccable moral values. These young believers are to shine as lights on campus, countering the growing darkness.

Aims

  • To make God's good news to known to children, young people and families.
  • To encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through the bible and prayer so that they may come to personal faith with our Lord Jesus Christ

Objectives

  • To provide an effective avenue for mission to students on campus
  • To provide a forum for continuity as they enroll in higher institutions
  • To encourage young people in the campuses to know and practice God's word to grow in Christian maturity and discipleship.
  • To provide a means of encouraging active participation of members of SUCF in SU work
